  • Key business partner of the Business Finance Team for various functions within the business with the goal to drive high business performance
  • Lead the monthly management reporting process and identify trends / issues / opportunities to bring to the attention of the leadership team and develop commentary, analysis and insight based on financial / commercial data to help understand business performance
  • Lead forecasting & planning function within the team and oversee the entire grocery business
  • Support on ad hoc analysis/projects related to Group Improvement Programs and Initiatives
  • Review feasibility studies for store expansion / major refurbishment from business divisions and offer constructive comments. Recommend viable proposals, aiming to strive for higher success rate, to management for approval. Assist business divisions to build a healthy portfolio with the understanding of country specifics and share the best practices across markets.
  • Coordinate with business divisions on lease and CAPEX commitments for Real Estate Committee (“REC”) submissions. Review the submissions and liaise with Group Finance in discussing the proposals and address any concerns on the presentation materials prior to the REC meeting.
  • Oversee the New and Refurbished Store Review / Store Portfolio Review cycle to improve quality of feasibility studies for new store opening and strengthen performance of underperforming stores. Understand and closely monitor the progress of agreed follow-up action points to strive for healthier store portfolio and better profitability.
  • Liaise with Group Finance in aligning budget, forecast and KPI reporting. Coordinate with and support business units throughout the process and consolidate output at regional level
  • Facilitate bi-annual risk management reporting. Update templates and provide guidance to assist business divisions in accomplishing the regular risk management review and complying with Group Audit and Risk Management (GARM)’s requirements.
  • Handle ad hoc queries from the management team and take charge of ad hoc risk management requests and ensure timely governing of these
  • Develop and lead a strong team, giving them opportunities to be their best and promoting inclusivity and recognition to drive productivity and business performance.
  • Inspire and energise team members by empowering them to do their jobs at a consistently high standard and ensuring they have a clear understanding of the technical strategy
Do you have experience in financial accounting?
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance, or related disciplines
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in auditing, management accounting, business performance analysis or financial modelling
  • Good MS Excel and PowerPoint skills such as pivot tables and charts
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good interpersonal skill and communicate well with various departments in the organization
  • A big picture thinker given the wide scope of grocery operations
