The Department plays a significant role in developing religious studies in the Chinese-speaking world. It now invites applications for an Associate/ Assistant Professorship in Daoist Studies.Applicants should have: (i) a Ph.D. degree in Daoist Studies or Chinese religions; (ii) a proven record of original and outstanding publications; (iii) demonstrated potential for research grant application; (iv) a strong commitment to teaching postgraduate and undergraduate (including general education) courses related to Daoist culture; and preferably (v) successful experience of supervising M.Phil./ Ph.D. students. Applicants for the rank of Assistant Professor should have 3-4 years of full-time teaching experience.The appointee will be responsible for: (a) teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses; (b) supervision of M.Phil./Ph.D. students; (c) assisting in the development of the Centre for Studies of Daoist Culture; and (d) administrative duties.Appointment will normally be made on contract basis for up to 3 years initially, commencing September 2026.
