- Strategizing and implementing: Design , maintain, and continuously improve our firm-wide data governance framework and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Driving adoption : Partner with senior business stakeholders to champion data governance initiatives and ensure widespread adoption of our data policies. Your ability to influence and build strong relationships will be key.
- Leading with technology: Help select, implement, and optimize data governance tools (e.g., for metadata, data quality, or master data management) to automate processes and ensure operational excellence.
- Operating for success: Take a leadership role in operating our data governance committee, ensuring clear communication and alignment across all departments.
- Ensuring compliance: Stay up-to-date with relevant data privacy and security regulations (e.g., HKMA requirements, GDPR) and ensure our data practices remain fully compliant.
- Monitoring and reporting: Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) and dashboards to monitor data quality, track progress on data governance initiatives, and provide regular reports to senior management.
- Experience : 3-6 years of hands-on experience in data governance and management, with a proven track record of driving enterprise-wide adoption.
- Industry Knowledge: Solid experience within the financial services sector is a must.
- Technical Acumen: Familiarity with data governance tools and their application in areas like metadata management, data quality, and master data management.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with diverse teams.
- AI Readiness: Experience with unstructured data management and its role in AI strategies is a significant plus.
- Regulatory Knowledge: A strong understanding of data privacy laws and financial services regulations, such as those from the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA).
- Data Literacy: Proven ability to explain complex data concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences, and to promote data-driven thinking across the organization.
