- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum 10 years relevant Actuarial experience, e.g. financial reporting, capital management, product pricing
- Strong understanding of financial/ economic principles and mathematical skills
- Superior aptitude for MS Office applications, including MS Access. Visual Basic skills preferred.
- Fundamental knowledge of business unit and its profitability drivers
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Well-developed analytical and problem-solving ability
- Act as Regional Office actuarial representative to provide oversight on regular reporting items, ensuring the quality of results and consistency of methodology including:
- New Business Value: monthly NBV forecast, quarterly NBV reports
- Embedded Value: Annual EV submission
- Local Capital Management: quarterly local capital reports
- Par Management: annual dividend recommendation
- Act as Regional Office actuarial representative to provide oversight on new product valuation methodology and assumptions.
- Provide support to Asia Deputy Chief Actuary in financial analyses and projects if needed
- Provide training and mentorship to more junior actuarial staff in the team, including serving as first reviewer of work
- Maintain and improve documentation of tasks for general reference and in conjunction with SOX
- Initiate process improvements and streamline tasks
