- Lead and oversee the activities of a regional sourcing team, ensuring alignment with global commercial and product development strategies.
- Manage and delegate tasks to team members including marketing and merchandising support staff, ensuring balanced workload and timely execution.
- Participate in vendor site visits and support buyer trips, both resident and international, as needed.
- Collaborate closely with global buying teams to negotiate optimal pricing and terms for merchandise.
- Maintain ongoing communication with senior leadership to stay informed on strategic priorities, market developments, and sales performance impacting sourcing decisions.
- Conduct market evaluations across local and international regions to identify optimal sourcing opportunities for assigned product categories.
- Coordinate vendor visits and trade show participation, including cost-benefit analysis and staff assignments.
- Monitor order execution and vendor compliance, addressing quality or production issues proactively through site visits and audits.
- Assess and onboard new vendors, ensuring alignment with corporate standards for social compliance and cargo security.
- University graduate with a minimum of 5 years of experience in sourcing, production, or related fields, including at least 2 years in a buying office, trading company, or importer serving North American or European markets.
- Proven expertise in category management or general sourcing across U.S., Canadian, or U.K. retail channels.
- Fluent in English and Mandarin; additional language skills or dialects are advantageous.
- Strong understanding of sourcing operations, manufacturing processes, materials, international logistics, and customs regulations.
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills with a track record of building and maintaining vendor relationships.
- Highly organized, analytical, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Independent thinker with a strong product sense and awareness of market trends.
- Willingness to travel frequently for vendor development and market exploration.
