Entry Requirements: (1) (i) Level 2 or equivalent (Note (a)) or above in five subjects in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) (Note (b)), or equivalent; or
(ii) Level 2 / Grade E or above in five subjects in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination(HKCEE) (Note (b)), or equivalent;
(2) Met the language proficiency requirements of Level 2 (Note (c)) or above in Chinese Language and English Language in HKDSEE or HKCEE, or equivalent; and
(3) Preference may be given to candidates who are familiar with MS Excel, PowerPoint and Chinese Word Processing, and those who have relevant working experience.
Note: (a) For appointment purpose, “Attained with Distinction” in Applied Learning subjects (subject to a maximum of two Applied Learning subjects), and Grade C in Other Language subjects in the HKDSEE are accepted as equivalent to Level 3 in the New Senior Secondary subjects in the HKDSEE. “Attained” in Applied Learning subjects (subject to a maximum of two Applied Learning subjects), and Grade E in Other Language subjects in the HKDSEE are accepted as equivalent to Level 2 in the New Senior Secondary subjects in the HKDSEE.
(b) The subjects may include Chinese Language and English Language.
(c) For appointment purpose, 'Grade C' and 'Grade E' in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in the HKCEE before 2007 are accepted administratively as comparable to 'Level 3' and 'Level 2' respectively in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth.
(d) Candidates who are invited to attend the recruitment interview will be assessed through a computer typing test immediately before or after the interview on the same date.
Duties: Project Assistants at the Islands District Office (IsDO) will perform various duties in accordance with their assigned posts. These duties include:
(1) Supporting the daily operation of the Islands District Council Secretariat;
(2) Engaging in various administrative tasks for IsDO;
(3) Assisting in organising community involvement projects; and
(4) Performing other duties when required.
Terms of Appointment: Successful candidates will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms with a contract period subject to operational needs.Place of Work : Islands District Office (Harbour Building), and other location as assigned; may be required to work outdoor.Working Hours : 44 hours per week, may be required to work on Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays.
Fringe Benefits Rest days, statutory holidays (or substituted holidays), annual leave, maternity/paternity leave, sickness allowance, where appropriate, will be granted in line with the provisions of the Employment Ordinance.
General Notes: (a) Candidates must be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the time of appointment unless specified otherwise.
