About Our ClientA reputable US law firm with a growing presence in Asia, renowned for exceptional legal services and client-focused approach.Job DescriptionThe Business Development Manager (and Specialist) will cover the following accountability areas:Business Development Advisory & Planning - Collaborate with senior management and partners to develop and implement the firm's business development strategy; conduct market research, competitor analysis, and client insights to identify opportunities and formulate effective strategies.Pitches Development - Lead the development and delivery of high-quality pitches and proposals in response to client requests and opportunities; work closely with partners, attorneys, and practice groups to tailor pitches to specific client needs and objectives; ensure the pitch process is efficient and effective, from initial request to final submission.Events Management - Plan, coordinate, and execute a variety of client events, seminars, conferences, and sponsorships; collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop event concepts, themes, and objectives; oversee event logistics, including venue selection, budget management, vendor coordination, and attendee registration.Marketing Communications - Manage the creation of marketing collateral, including brochures, newsletters, website content, and thought leadership materials; identify relevant industry awards and rankings for the firm and its attorneys; coordinate and lead the submission process for awards and rankings, ensuring accuracy and timely submission; maintain a calendar of submission deadlines and collaborate with attorneys and support staff to gather necessary information.Leadership (Manager only) - Foster a collaborative and high-performing team culture with two junior business development professionals across two offices, including one in Hong Kong.The Successful Applicant
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 8 years (for Manager) and 4 years (for Specialist) of business development or marketing experience within a law firm or professional services environment.
  • Strong understanding of the legal industry, including key market trends and competitive landscape.
  • Proven track record in developing and executing successful business development strategies and initiatives.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively tailor messaging for different audiences.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to offer innovative ideas and contribute to the overall business development strategy.
  • Experience in managing and motivating a team, with a focus on mentorship and professional development.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems, marketing automation tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with partners, attorneys, and other stakeholders.
  • Flexibility to travel occasionally to other offices or client locations.
