- The Institutional Client Group (ICG) team is a global coverage function responsible for managing HSBC’s relationships with a wide spectrum of institutional clients
- The ICG team provides the full spectrum of HSBC’s products and services working with product partners across Global Banking & Markets including Markets & Securities Services, Global Banking (including Corporate Finance Coverage, Structured Finance and Real Asset Finance), Cash Management, Trade Finance, Issuer Services, with strong collaboration with business lines in other divisions such as Wealth and Personal Banking including HSBC Asset Management
- The individual will be responsible for maintaining relationships management with an aim of developing and growing profitable long-term relationships with clients across Global Investors
- Proactively develop an understanding of the clients’ business needs and strategy, and identify solutions in response to the challenges that they face
- Identify business development opportunities, coordination of origination and execution of new business across the full spectrum of Global Banking and Markets products and solutions - and work with product partners in other divisions (Commercial Banking and Wealth & Personal Banking)
- Assist in the support of the broader ICG Hong Kong and Asia coverage team, driving revenue generation against targets, product alignment, client planning, client briefings, customer satisfaction, cost containment and supporting development and training of more junior staff
- Drive and execute the global ICG and GBM strategy across allocated portfolio, in order to successfully defend/service existing mandates, originate new value-added revenue streams, and ensure credit exposure and associated systemic risks are appropriately monitored, controlled and mitigated
- Identify business at risk, coordination of defence of existing business and mandates across the full spectrum of HSBC products and solutions
- Champion and be a vocal advocate for HSBC’s core values, which include supporting the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) agenda
- Provide guidance, mentorship and development to junior members of team, both in country and around the region
- Understand and ensure compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business in which the jobholder is involved, including Anti-Bribery and Corruption, Anti-Money Laundering, Sanctions and other financial crime risk concerns
- Act as the First Line of Defence to protect HSBC against Financial Crime and to ensure credit and financial crime risk arising from the relationship with the clients is correctly managed at all times
- Knowledge of, or willingness to develop, a sound understanding of the HF, AM and Financial sponsor sector
- Extensive experience within, and strong knowledge of, Global Banking & Markets, with a particular focus on Markets and Securities Services with a proven ability to identify opportunities and drive these with product partners to execution
- Proven relationship management skills with global clients and a track record of C-Suite engagement and trusted advisor status
- The ability to form effective relationships and exercise influence at the most senior level of the organization, both internally and externally
- A strong understanding of risk management and risk mitigation
- Experience in undertaking in-depth review of industry, competitors, client and products
- Very strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills
- A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline
- The ability to work in Hong Kong
