Legal Counsel, Asia

AXA

Manage and coordinate with external legal advisors to prepare, review, negotiate and validate acquisition, merger, partnership, distribution and transaction agreements
Work as part of the deal team with AXA Group corporate finance and Group Legal teams to take the lead in M&A and partnership transactions in the Asia Region
Work with the Asia entities and Group Legal on new regulatory trends and topics, e.g. ESG, AI
Work and liaise with internal parties (procurement, IT), from RFP to negotiation to closing of Regional contracts
Negotiate with external vendors on terms and conditions
Coordinate and work with local legal teams to provide advice on legal topics, cascading and sharing Group requirements
Improve legal capability at country level through appropriate training and sharing of best practices and experiences from around the Region
Develop, review and keep updated the AXA legal templates

Qualifications

Min 10 years professional experience, having worked at international law firms in Hong Kong, in-house experience preferred
Experience in China-related corporate / M&A
Strong and solid experience in transactional work and corporate/commercial matters
With insurance background is preferred
Strong communication skills, with Chinese capabilities (written and spoken) required
High level of autonomy
