Our plans to expand into the Greater Bay Area (GBA) will also cultivate talent to serve Hong Kong and the wider metropolitan GBA.For more information about the University, please visit https://www.hkmu.edu.hk.We are now looking for a suitable person to fill the following position in the Mainland and International Affairs Office:Assistant Officer (Mainland and International Affairs) (Ref: 25001VO)The Assistant Officer will support management of the Mainland and International Affairs Office (MIAO) by assisting in the implementation of partnership strategies, managing international student recruitment efforts, and facilitating external engagements. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of the office and contributing to the overall success of HKMU's international initiatives.Major Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe appointee will be responsible mainly for the following:
  • Supporting Partnership Strategies:
  • Assist in the development and execution of action plans to establish and maintain partnerships with universities.
  • Conduct research and analysis of potential partner universities and markets, and monitor trends in international higher education.
  • Help identify opportunities for collaboration that align with HKMU's strategic objectives.
  • Assisting in International Student Recruitment:
  • Support the sourcing and evaluation of potential student recruitment partners and assist in managing partner networks.
  • Help deliver training and resources to recruitment partners to ensure compliance with HKMU's policies and procedures.
  • Assist in executing the international student recruitment plan for prioritized regions, including tracking and reporting on recruitment activities.
  • Facilitating External Engagements:
  • Provide logistical and administrative support for incoming visits from partners and higher education institutions.
  • Assist in organizing student mobility missions and other external engagement activities.
  • Maintain communication with partners and stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration.
  • Providing Administrative Support:
  • Maintain accurate records and databases related to partnerships and recruitment activities.
  • Prepare reports and presentations as needed to support management of the MIAO.
  • Assist with general office administration tasks to ensure the efficient operation of the MIAO.
  • Performing any other duties as assigned by the Director of Mainland and International Affairs Office or his/her nominee.
CandidatesCandidates should possess the following qualifications, experience and competence:A bachelor’s degree with some relevant experience in partnership development, or international student recruitment, preferably within higher education;Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines;Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in business-level English, both written and spoken. Proficiency in a Southeast Asian or Central Asian language (such as Thai, Bahasa, Uzbek, or Kazakh) is a plus;A basic understanding of the international education industry and an interest in multicultural settings; andA proactive and flexible attitude toward work, with a willingness to work outside regular hours as needed to support recruitment activities.Terms and Conditions for AppointmentAn attractive remuneration package, including basic salary, an end-of-contract gratuity, and a discretionary incentive payment, where applicable, will be offered to the right candidates.
