The Bank's slogan of 'For Personalized Service' and 'All in a Family' denotes the Bank's devotion to providing personalized services to its clients and promoting a harmonious relationship among its staff members.The successful candidate will act as a Project Manager to oversee and drive various projects under the responsibility of the Operational Risk Management Department and ensure their successful completion.Responsibilities:Advise on and challenge the design and effectiveness of controls established by the first line of deference for management of operational risksConduct control assurance reviews for operational risks to ensure that the relevant risk controls adopted by the first line of defence remain effective and are implemented consistently and effectively in daily operations, including assessment of control design and effectiveness, review scoping, control testing and communication of findings and recommendations to the revieweeAct as the project manager to:formulate and execute the operational risk related-project plan with details such as the scope of work, implementation timeline and resources required for project implementation;conduct regular project meetings with relevant stakeholders in order to keep track of their progress as well as address the problems encountered by them during the project;document and report the project progress to management on a regular basis until project completion;timely escalate the significant issues of the project to management for attention and steering;supervise the external consultants and service providers engaged by the Bank to support the project and ensure their work quality can meet the Bank's expectations (e.g. solutions provided by external consultants should be pragmatic and executable under the Bank's operating environment); andliaise with regulators and industry associations and handle their enquiries about the projectHandle other risk-related matters such as the Bank's Risk Appetite Statement, ICAAP, Mandatory Slavery Act, Third-Party Risk Management, etc.Handle operational risk-related surveys conducted by regulators and industry associationsTake up ad hoc tasks assigned by management from time to timeRequirements:Degree holder or above in Risk Management, Finance, Accounting, or other related disciplinesHolder of ECF on Operational Risk Management certification is preferredMinimum 6 years of experience in project management acquired from sizable banks or Big 4 consulting firms of which at least 3 years was related to operational, technology or compliance risksGood knowledge of banking operations and the local regulatory requirements applicable to operational risk management, e.g. HKMA SPM OR-1, OR-2, SA-2, CA-G-5, etc.Knowledge of overseas regulatory requirements (e.g. Modern Slavery Act of the UK) is a PlusEffective communication and business writing skills with proficiency in English and ChineseGood team player with strong project management and problem solving skillsGood time management and able to work independently and under pressureWe offer competitive remuneration commensurate with candidate’s background.
