Job Requirements:(a) Persons who are qualified to practice dentistry in Hong Kong under Full Registration as stipulated in the Dentists Registration Ordinance and Dentists Registration (Amendment) Ordinance 2024 (Cap 156, Hong Kong Laws);(b) Possess a valid practising certificate issued by The Dental Council of Hong Kong;(c) A member of a medical defence organisation such as the Medical Protection Society;(d) Possess a valid License for Use of Irradiating Apparatus on Human Body;(e) At least 10 years’ post qualification clinical experience;(f) Higher qualifications in Paediatric Dentistry and working experience in training/ supervising dental therapists are both preferred;(g) Good organisational ability and communication skills; and(h) Good command of English and be able to communicate in Chinese.Major Duties:(a) Responsible for course planning, arrangements and evaluation, including liaison with relevant parties in the Department of Health, HKU SPACE, Faculty of Dentistry of The University of Hong Kong, and the Hospital; preparation of the course curriculum, teaching materials and timetable; and student enrolment;(b) Participate as a member in Academic Panel and Board of Examiners of the course under purview;(c) Undertake all teaching activities, including supervision of Student Dental Therapists during their course of training at Simulation Laboratory inside PPDH and clinical practice on patients in Government School Dental Clinics;(d) Undertake assessments, examinations and performance management of the Student Dental Therapists;(e) Counsel and coach individual students with sub-standard performance;(f) Collect and analyze feedback of the course from students for future improvement;(g) Assist in the planning and implementation of the training relevant to the registration of dental therapists; and(h) Provide professional support in any other duties as assigned by the Management.Package: Five-day week, 18 days’ annual leave and medical/ dental benefits. Successful candidate will be offered appointment at the entry point, MPS Point 45 ($127,700) per month with a two-year contract. An end-of-contract gratuity may be granted upon satisfactory completion of the contract with consistently high standard of performance and conduct.
