This role requires a proactive and strategic professional with excellent media relations skills, a strong network of contacts in the media industry, and the ability to manage complex communication projects with multiple stakeholders.Job Description
  • Develop and implement comprehensive media relations strategies and plans aligned with the company's goals and objectives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists, editors, and key media personnel to secure positive coverage and manage media inquiries.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify newsworthy stories, projects, and initiatives to generate media interest.
  • Prepare and distribute press releases, media kits, and other communication materials to targeted media outlets.
  • Proactively pitch stories and secure media coverage in print, broadcast, and online media channels.
  • Monitor media coverage and provide regular reports and analysis to senior management on media trends, sentiment, and public perception.
  • Act as the company spokesperson and handle media interviews, press conferences, and public speaking engagements.
  • Develop and maintain a crisis communication plan and serve as the primary point of contact for media during crisis situations.
  • Manage media events, including press conferences, media tours, and product launches, ensuring smooth execution and maximum media attendance.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to align media relations efforts with overall marketing and branding strategies.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging media platforms to identify new opportunities for media engagement.
The Successful Applicant
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience (5 years+) in corporate communication, media relations, or public relations, preferably within the real estate or property development industry.
  • Strong network of media contacts and excellent relationships with journalists, editors, and influencers.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling press releases, media pitches, and other communication materials.
  • Demonstrated experience in crisis communication and managing media relations during challenging situations.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive and results-oriented mindset.
  • Proficiency in media monitoring and analysis tools/software.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and their role in media relations.
  • Professionalism, integrity, and the ability to maintain confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information.
