The Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences collaborates with over 200 ophthalmologists and visual scientists across Hong Kong, Mainland China, and international institutions. We are dedicated to excellence in patient care, research, professional training, and public education in all areas of ophthalmology and visual sciences. Our department also actively engages in impactful community outreach and education initiatives.We are seeking motivated individuals to join our clinical and research programmes, which span academic, community, and translational research. These programmes involve ophthalmic investigations, public education, outreach services, and studies on a wide range of eye diseases, including glaucoma, paediatric eye conditions, autoimmune disorders, ocular surface diseases, refractive errors, ocular cancers, dry eye disease, thyroid eye disease, and retinal diseases.We are committed to supporting the career development of all team members.Applicants should have/be (i) a Bachelor’s degree; (ii) a strong sense of responsibility, maturity, and attention to detail; (iii) proficiency in English and Cantonese; (iv) a genuine interest in medical research, particularly in ophthalmology and visual sciences; and (v) a patient-centred, compassionate approach at work. Candidates with prior experience in clinical or laboratory research and skills in statistical analysis (e.g., Stata, SAS, SPSS) will be an advantage. Familiarity with longitudinal or panel data analysis is preferred. Candidates without a Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience may be considered for appointment as Junior Research Assistant.
