Hong Kong Education City Limited (EdCity) is a wholly-owned company of the Government of HKSAR. Our portal, www.EdCity.hk, is a one-stop professional educational portal in Hong Kong which incorporates information, resources, interactive communities and online services, and promotes the use of information technology (I.T.) in improving the effectiveness of teaching and learning.Responsibilities:
  • Infrastructure Management: Configure, maintain, and optimize Windows and Linux servers, mobile devices, network equipment, Microsoft 365 services, and public cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, Alibaba Cloud);
  • Operational Excellence: Oversee daily IT operations, including user account management, data backups, and system performance monitoring to ensure seamless functionality;
  • Problem Resolution: Proactively troubleshoot and resolve system and network issues to minimize downtime and enhance user experience;
  • Security & Compliance: Implement robust security measures to safeguard IT infrastructure and ensure compliance with industry standards;
  • Solution Implementation: Collaborate on the evaluation, procurement, and deployment of cutting-edge IT infrastructure solutions;
  • Project Support: Assist in IT infrastructure projects, supporting planning, execution, and delivery to meet project objectives and timelines;
  • User Support: Provide responsive and professional technical support to end-users, resolving issues promptly;
  • Documentation: Create and maintain clear, comprehensive documentation of operational procedures to ensure consistency and scalability;
  • Ad-Hoc Duties: Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support the organization’s evolving IT requirements.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related discipline;
  • At least 2 years relevant working experience in system administration or system engineering;
  • Solid experience in managing Linux servers and related technologies;
  • Solid experience in managing Windows computers and Windows servers including AD DS, and networking;
  • Proficient in managing Microsoft 365 services such as Exchange Online and SharePoint;
  • Knowledge of one or more of the following is highly desirable:
  • (i) Linux server administration
  • (ii) NG firewall and load balancer configuration
  • (iii) Virtualization
  • (iv) Public clouds platforms such as Azure and Alicloud
  • Good troubleshooting and communication skills;
  • Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese;
  • Candidate with less experience will be considered as Assistant System Administrator / Assistant System Engineer.
