香港中文大學Applications are invited for:Technician (carrying the job title of 'Safety Specialist') (Ref. 250001CL)(Closing date: August 12, 2025)University Safety OfficeThe role of the appointee is to safeguard the University's employees, students, and visitors by ensuring compliance with applicable ordinances and regulations, and by adhering to the University's policies and best practices.The appointee will be responsible for (a) managing the asset inventory and licencing of radioactive substances, irradiating apparatus, and non-ionising radiation equipment; (b) administering the personal dosimetry and medical surveillance programme for radiation workers; (c) assisting in the development and implementation of laboratory safety programmes and guidelines; (d) conducting safety inspections and audits at workplaces; (e) managing waste disposal; (f) organising and delivering safety training and seminars to enhance awareness among staff and students; (g) attending emergency incidents and conducting investigations; and (h) performing any other duties as assigned. Working beyond normal office hours will be required occasionally.Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor's degree/ Higher Diploma/ Higher Certificate in Physical Science, Engineering, or relevant disciplines from a recognised university or technical institute; OR a Diploma/ Certificate in a relevant discipline from a recognised university or technical institute plus 3 years' relevant post-qualification work experience; (ii) a good understanding of radiation safety; (iii) a strong sense of responsibility; (iv) good interpersonal skills; and (v) self-motivation and the willingness to learn. Having the ability to provide IT application support to the Office will be an advantage.Appointment will initially be made on a 2-year contract with contract-end gratuity, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
