To learn more about Maxim’s, visitProject Manager - Process Improvements (Financial Processes)We are seeking a proactive and experienced Project Manager – Process Improvements (Financial Processes) to join our Group Finance team. This pivotal role is responsible for optimizing financial processes across the Group, leveraging our shared services hub in China and collaborating with local business process outsourcing (BPO) partners in various Southeast Asian countries. The successful candidate will drive process efficiency, enhance the timeliness and accuracy of financial reporting, and support the development of robust financial planning and analysis (FP&A) capabilities.This role will work across business functions and/or geographies to help drive a continuous improvement mindset, identify the best approaches for projects, design and propose solutions and recommendations, design delivery plans to facilitate leadership to review and make informed decisionsResponsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate end-to-end process improvement projects within the Group’s finance function, from scoping and planning through execution, monitoring, and closure. This role will involve leading a task force and managing assigned manpower for each project.
- Analyze, design, and implement best-in-class financial processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability, leveraging shared services and BPO partnerships. Familiarity with accounting and process automation is essential.
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including finance teams, shared services, local BPO partners, and business units across multiple countries, to gather requirements and drive change within a multicultural context.
- Collaborate with IT and finance systems teams to enhance ERP and workflow systems, ensuring seamless integration and data quality to support advanced FP&A.
- Drive adoption of new processes and systems through effective communication, training, and support.
- Monitor key performance indicators and project milestones, providing regular updates to the Group Financial Controller and executive management
- Travel regularly to China and Southeast Asia (approximately 50% of the time) to support project execution and stakeholder engagement, with flexible travel arrangements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is a plus.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant project management experience, preferably within financial process improvement, finance transformation, or shared services/BPO environments.
- Demonstrated experience with financial process design and optimization.
- Experienced in driving changes (challenging the status quo), with strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Strong understanding of finance processes, financial reporting, and FP&A.
- Proficient with ERP and workflow systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.).
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills; able to influence and collaborate with stakeholders across diverse cultures and functions.
- Analytical and detail-oriented, with a track record of driving data-driven process improvements.
- Strong problem-solving and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- Culturally sensitive and adaptable to working in multinational, multicultural environments.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and results-driven.
- Strong leadership and team collaboration skills.
- Data analytics skillset is an advantage
