We embrace equality, diversity and inclusion in all aspects and provide flexible work arrangements to support the various needs and well-being of our people.The OpportunityThe Assistant Finance Manager plays a pivotal leadership role across finance and operations within East Asia geography of Mainland China, Macau, South Korea & Taiwan. This position supports business leaders with strategic financial guidance, driving performance, profitability, and growth. This role also ensures compliance with financial policies and contributes to continuous improvement across the finance function.Key Responsibilities:Act as a key financial advisor to business leaders, providing commercial insights and decision support.Lead budgeting, forecasting, and annual business planning processes, ensuring robust assumptions and scenario analysis.Collaborate with Group leaders and Finance teams to develop and implement regional strategies.Deliver executive-level reporting and analysis to support performance optimization and strategic decision-making.Support bid reviews and project management.Drive standardization, simplification, and continuous improvement across finance operations.Ensure adherence to financial policies and maintain a strong internal control environment.Prepare regular reports and dashboards for leadership on financial performance, cash flow and project analysis.Provide financial training to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.Key Relationships:Finance teams across APAC and East Asia (Mainland China, Macau, South Korea, & Taiwan).Internal stakeholders including business leaders, project managers, other financial business partners and support staff.At Arup, you belong to an extraordinary collective - in which we encourage individuality to thrive. Our strength comes from how we respect, share and connect our diverse experiences, perspectives and ideas.You will have the opportunity do socially useful work that has meaning - to Arup, to your career, to our members and to the clients and communities we serve.Is this role right for you?Minimum 7 years of relevant experience, including 3 years in a managerial and post-qualified role within a large corporation or MNC; Big 4 and APAC experience preferred.Degree in Finance or Accounting, with CPA or equivalent professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA).Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and analytical skills.Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and influencing abilities across all levels.Technically proficient in accounting, controls, audit, and risk management.Skilled in financial systems, Excel modeling, and Microsoft Office; Power BI is an advantage.Collaborative, proactive, and adaptable with a continuous improvement mindset.Confident in challenging existing processes and mentoring junior staff.Demonstrates alignment with Arup values and commitment to professional excellence.*Candidates with less experience will be considered for the position of Senior Financial AnalystNot ready to apply just yet, or have a few questions?
