The MEAG is part of the Munich Re Group and is simultaneously one of the most significant asset management companies in the world. We are currently looking for Research Analyst to enhance our insights and presence in Asia markets, with a specific focus on Greater China (mainland, HK, Taiwan), South Korea, and Japan. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the cross-asset team in Munich, contributing to global research initiatives while delivering specialized insights into Asia markets.The role is based in Hong Kong and reports to the Chief Investment Officer at the MEAG Hong Kong office, as well as the Global Head of Research functionally.YOUR ROLE
  • Collaborate closely with the MEAG Global Research team in Munich to provide comprehensive insights into global economic and capital market trends.
  • Develop economic and capital markets forecasts for the Asian markets, offering localized perspectives and insights.
  • Conduct in-depth research on topics relevant to Greater China, South Korea, and Japan, delivering timely assessments of economic, capital market, and political developments.
  • Conduct bottom-up research on mainland China, gathering insights and feedback for the Munich team by monitoring local sources such as sell-side analysts and government officials.
  • Act as a liaison between MEAG Research and portfolio management teams in Hong Kong.
  • Contribute to the preparation and dissemination of joint research output, ensuring alignment with the broader research agenda.
YOUR PROFILE
  • Master's degree in economics or financial economics.
  • Familiarity with standard information systems such as Bloomberg/LSEG.
  • Basic knowledge of econometric forecast software suites like EViews.
  • Excellent proficiency in both English and Mandarin languages.
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in asset management or investment banking.
  • Strong analytical skills and a demonstrated ability to conduct comprehensive research.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across global teams.
