- Create and maintain holistic B/D/A/T views centred on the application portfolio, mapping capabilities to applications, data ownership, technology platforms, and lifecycle risks to guide modernization and investment decisions.
- Review and validate solution designs from internal teams and vendors against EA principles, reference architectures, security, data, and integration standards; document trade-offs and decision records.
- Facilitate on global technology solution governance processes, work closely with regional team, and manage standards, waivers, and compliance metrics for traceable, risk-ware change.
- Convey complex architecture options to senior business and Internal IT stakeholders, facilitate alignment, and mentor solution architects to adopt standards and patterns.
- Apply EA practices to life insurance value streams (distribution, underwriting, policy admin, claims, finance/actuarial), integrating regulatory, data privacy, and resiliency considerations.
- Produce consumable models and diagrams; leverage lightweight apps/workflows to improve EA repository quality, lifecycle data, and CAB inputs.
- Build and maintain current state and target state architecture across B/D/A/T with an application portfolio lens, including capability maps, application/service catalogues, data usage, and technology stacks.
- Support solution architecture reviews and provide technical guidance; validate designs from internal IT and vendors against EA guardrails, security/data standards, and regulatory requirements; manage exceptions and remediation.
- Curate EA standards, reference architectures, modelling conventions, and documentation templates; drive adoption via guidance, examples, and coaching.
- Manage application and technology lifecycle risks, including legacy modernization planning, vendor and codebase landscape, and integration complexity; maintain technology and application roadmaps.
- Engage stakeholders across business, digital, data, security, infrastructure, and delivery to ensure traceability from business outcomes to architecture decisions and delivery plans; report progress through measurable KPIs.
- Conduct horizon scanning and POVs on trends relevant to insurance (APIs/open integration, cloud platforms, data/AI enablement, low-code, event-driven architecture) and recommend pragmatic adoption paths.
- Establish metrics for governance effectiveness, portfolio health, and adherence to standards; continuously improve forums, processes, and artifacts.
- 8+ years in IT, including at least 4 years in software development in both front-to-back engineering role and 2+ years in architect roles spanning solutions and enterprise concerns; at least one end-to-end EA or IT architecture transformation program in the insurance industry.
- Familiarity with TOGAF and ArchiMate; ability to produce application portfolio centred B/D/A/T viewpoints, roadmaps, and decision records.
- Proficiency with Draw.io and diagram-as-code (PlantUML, Mermaid).
- Programming/automation: Hands-on familiarity with Python and Power Automate for building up EA dashboards and management tools.
- Working knowledge of cloud services, API management, integration patterns, security and data standards relevant to regulated financial services.
- Practical experience structuring architecture reviews, managing standards/waivers, and facilitating CAB participation with clear inputs/outputs and risk/impact assessment.
- Strong written and verbal communication in both English, Cantonese, and Mandarin; demonstrated coaching/mentoring of architects and engineers.
- Exposure to insurance reference models (e.g. ACORD); certifications such as TOGAF, ArchiMate would be advantage.
