The Department of Surgery is seeking a proactive and enthusiastic Research Assistant to work at the Prince of Wales Hospital in Shatin. The appointee will mainly focus on research related to urological diseases.Applicants should have (i) a BSc or MPhil degree in Biological or Medical Sciences or relevant discipines; (ii) experience either in basic laboratory work on molecular genetics and molecular biology (e.g., real-time PCR, western blot, cell culture, animal models, etc.); (iii) experience in computer or video data collection and handling; (iv) experience in clinical research; (v) a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese; (vi) good computer skills in Microsoft Office and / or statistical software; and (vii) strong interpersonal skills.The appointee will be responsible for (a) assisting in laboratory or clinical research projects; (b) assisting in sample collection and data handling; and (c) performing other tasks as assigned.Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for one year commencing as soon as possible, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.The University only accepts and considers applications submitted online for the post above via the CUHK career site.
