OverviewOur client is an global retail group and they are seeking a dynamic and strategic Senior Global IT Portfolio Manager/Director to oversee the IT portfolio across the multiple regions. The ideal candidate should have strong leadership skills, possess extensive experience in IT portfolio management, and have a track record of driving strategic alignment and delivering successful outcomes within a regional scope both APAC & EUR.Responsibilities
  • Regional Strategy & Alignment
  • Tailor global IT strategies to fit regional business needs
  • Prioritize projects based on local market demands and operational goals
  • Ensure consistency across countries or business units within the region
  • Portfolio Oversight
  • Manage a portfolio of IT projects, programs, and systems across the region
  • Track performance, budgets, risks, and resource allocation
  • Evaluate ROI and ensure alignment with business objectives
  • Stakeholder Engagement
  • Act as the bridge between regional business leaders and global IT teams
  • Communicate project status, risks, and value to executives
  • Facilitate decision-making on project prioritization and cost
  • Governance & Compliance
  • Implement and enforce IT governance frameworks
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations, data privacy laws, and corporate standards
  • Conduct regular portfolio reviews and audits
  • Continuous Improvement & Innovation
  • Identify underperforming projects or redundant systems
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or relevant certification is a plus
  • Proven experience managing multiple IT projects or portfolios across regions (APAC and EUR) and business units, with ability to adapt global IT strategies to regional needs
  • Familiarity with enterprise-level IT systems, digital transformation, and cross-border operations
  • Strong understanding of strategic IT alignment and the ability to effectively manage budgets and resources
  • Excellent stakeholder management and collaboration skills
  • Financial acumen for budgeting, forecasting, and ROI analysis
  • Knowledge of risk management, compliance, and regional regulatory requirements
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or PRINCE2
  • IT governance or service management credentials such as ITIL or COBIT can be a plus
  • Good command in both English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin)
