About Our ClientA Joint Venture of a top tier global SWFs and Chinese SOE bank in Hong Kong.Job DescriptionAs an Investment Analyst/Associate, your main responsibilities will include:Deal Execution
  • Collaborate with the deal team to manage end-to-end investment processes.
  • Assist Principals or Senior Principals in sourcing and evaluating new investment opportunities aligned with strategic goals.
  • Lead operational aspects of deal execution, including scheduling meetings, managing communications, and liaising with partners.
  • Prepare and present investment cases internally.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Legal, Finance, etc.) to ensure timely execution.
  • Build and analyze complex financial models.
  • Support due diligence, underwriting, valuation, and negotiation processes.
  • Contribute to the development of term sheets and deal documentation.
Asset Management
  • Act as the primary asset manager for smaller assets and assist senior colleagues with more complex portfolios.
  • Support strategic planning, budgeting, and performance measurement.
  • Identify and escalate key business risks.
  • Implement governance frameworks and operational support systems.
  • Monitor and report on financial and operational performance.
  • Conduct asset valuations and support monetization or exit strategies.
  • Recommend performance improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with investment strategies, covenants, and ESG requirements.
  • Prepare internal and external reports, including Investment Committee papers and investor updates.
  • Maintain accurate asset data and monitor portfolio composition.
Quality Assurance
  • Review and validate outputs from Analysts and Associates to ensure accuracy and reliability.
Relationship Management
  • Build industry connections by attending relevant events and conferences.
Process Improvement
  • Recommend and implement enhancements to systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement aligned with best practices.
Other Duties
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.
The Successful ApplicantA successful Investment Analyst/Associate should have:Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • Master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., CFA, CPA, CAIA) are advantageous.
  • Proficiency in English and Chinese, both written and spoken.
Experience
  • At least 5 years of progressive experience in investment banking, consulting, or private equity.
  • Minimum 2 years of industry-specific experience is preferred.
  • Strong background in financial modeling, valuation, asset management, and strategic planning.
Skills
  • Deep sector knowledge and understanding of value drivers.
  • Strong grasp of financial and accounting principles.
  • Expertise in corporate finance and valuation.
  • Ability to originate deals and leverage industry networks.
  • Proficiency in building financial models and conducting scenario analysis.
  • Experience managing small transactions and supporting larger deals.
  • Capability to manage assets and support senior asset managers.
  • Analytical mindset with strong storytelling and presentation skills.
  • Experience mentoring junior team members.
  • Risk assessment and mitigation planning.
  • Strong research and business evaluation skills.
