- Develop and lead initiatives to increase the overall value of the health insurance company, aligned with the strategic goals of HSBC Life's ambitions and the HSBC universal banking franchise
- Collaborate with key stakeholders, including internal departments, external partners, and industry organizations, to identify opportunities for enhancing the value proposition of the health insurance products and services
- Conduct market analysis and research to identify emerging trends, customer needs, and competitive dynamics in the health insurance industry, and develop strategies to capitalize on these insights to drive value creation
- Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track and measure the impact of value creation initiatives, and regularly report on progress to senior management and other relevant stakeholders
- Champion a customer-centric approach to value creation, advocating for the integration of customer feedback and insights into product development, service delivery, and overall business strategy
- Drive collaboration with the broader HSBC ecosystem, leveraging synergies across different business lines and geographical regions to maximize the value of health insurance as part of the universal banking offering
- Identify opportunities for operational efficiency and cost optimization within the health insurance business, contributing to overall value creation for the franchise
- Take accountability for the financial performance of initiatives aimed at increasing the value of the health insurance business, ensuring that they contribute to the overall profitability and growth targets of HSBC Life and the universal banking franchise
- Foster a culture of collaboration, creativity, and continuous improvement within the team and across relevant stakeholders, driving a collective effort to deliver sustained value to customers and shareholders
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferable with extensive experience (15 years+) on product development, sales and distribution and deployment activities preferably in a digital environment and in the Insurance / Health / Bancassurance industries. MBA or similar qualification is an advantage
- Insurance Industry Experience: Strong background in the insurance industry, including knowledge of various insurance products, sales processes, underwriting, and risk management. Experience in insurance marketing, distribution, and strategic partnerships would be beneficial
- Banking Industry Knowledge: Understanding of the banking industry, including familiarity with banking products, customer behaviour, regulatory considerations, and the competitive landscape within the banking sector
- Strategic Planning and Business and Financial Analysis: Experience in strategic planning, insurance market analysis, and business planning and development to effectively map out opportunities for maximizing the insurance company's franchise value within the bank
- Financial and Business Acumen: Strong understanding of business drivers and financial implications, including financial analysis, in order to assess and optimize the value of the insurance company within the bank. Resources allocation, strategic cost management. Experienced in using data analytics and key performance indicators to inform decision-making and drive strategic initiatives
- Communication and Presentation Skills: Effective communication and presentation abilities to articulate the value proposition of the insurance company's products and services within the bank, both internally and externally
- Leadership and Collaboration: Ability to lead cross-functional teams and collaborate with various stakeholders across the insurance company and the bank to drive initiatives aimed at maximizing franchise value
- Strategic thinker with strong customer centric, analytical and innovation mind set and practical experience of major business transformation, including large scale project management execution experience
- A clear personal passion for employee / individual health & wellness preferred
- Ability to translate business and customer need to business/product requirements, customer journey mapping, technical assessments, organizational buy in, launch plans, and ongoing management
- Results orientated, self-directed and motivated change leader. Ability to work effectively in a multinational, highly matrixed environment
- Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills, with excellent relationship building and senior stakeholder management skills
- Ability to present complex strategies confidently and concisely to Leadership teams and key external stakeholders
