Application Development lead (2- year Contract)

• Performing project management, system design, development, testing, maintenance, and support of administrative applications for University units.
• Enhancing applications developed using Java, ReactJS, and NodeJS.
• Liaising with users to collect and analyze system requirements.
• Overseeing and managing technological needs to meet business requirements and assess technical solution feasibility.
• Managing systems with outsourced solutions.
• Monitoring system performance and troubleshooting issues, collaborating with network, infrastructure, and service sections on technical matters.
• Assisting the supervisor with planning, technical evaluation, and implementation of system development tools and methodologies, particularly in adopting new technology to modernize legacy systems.
• Performing any other duties as assigned by the Director or their delegates.

• Hold a recognized degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Have at least seven years of solid experience in systems analysis, design, and application system development.
• Possess hands-on programming experience with Java, J2EE, Spring, ReactJS, NodeJS, IBM WebSphere
• Application Server, Windows servers, Oracle RDBMS 19c, MSSQL, or MySQL.
• Have experience developing application RESTful APIs over NodeJS and in container environments; knowledge of
• JavaScript libraries/frameworks (e.g., Redis, NextJS, ReactJS, NestJS, ExpressJS, NodeJS) is preferred.
• Preferably have knowledge or experience in implementing workflow processing systems.
• Have experience supporting public-facing applications (both web and mobile), focusing on system performance and conducting unit and load tests.
• Have knowledge or experience with AI development tools and LLMs from cloud services (e.g., Azure Open AI, GPT-4, Qwen2-VL) as well as vectorization in RAG.
• Have experience integrating applications with Azure Active Directory and enabling Single-Sign-On and Multi-Factor Authentication features.
• Possess strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills to work with users at various levels.
• Be proficient in written and spoken English and Chinese, with fluency in Putonghua preferred.
• Be proactive and able to work under pressure.
