This role involves leading a team responsible for business planning, market analysis, financial forecasting, and strategic project management to support senior leadership in decision-making and long-term planning.What you’ll be doing:Business Planning and Strategies ImplementationLead and manage the Business Planning and Strategy team to deliver high-quality strategic insights and business plans aligned with the Wholesale Banking division’s goals with key business partners from Finance, CEO office, Global Markets, Global Investment Banking, Operations, etc.Prepare clear, compelling, and data-driven presentation materials for senior management, internal teams, and external stakeholders to communicate strategic plans, business performance, and market insights.Develop, implement, and monitor business strategies and plans to achieve growth targets, optimize resource allocation, and enhance operational efficiencyAnalyze key changes in market trends, competitor activities, and benchmarks to inform Wholesale Banking decisions and enhance the implementation of strategic initiativesDrive cross-functional projects and initiatives that align with the bank’s wholesale banking strategyMonitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide regular updates and insights to senior leadershipDevelop a strategic point of view and formalize business strategies for Head of Wholesale BankingLead financial planning activities including budgeting, forecasting, preparing operational plans and variance analysis to ensure alignment with division and bank-wide financial targetsManage and monitor Wholesale Banking’s loan and deposit portfolio as a whole to ensure alignment with business objectives, optimize asset-liability management, and support risk mitigation strategiesUtilize advanced data analytics to generate actionable insights, track operating targets, and measure business performance against strategic objectivesStay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and technological advancements impacting Wholesale Banking.Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvementWhat we are looking for:Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business / finance / data science related discipline10+ years of relevant banking experience or consulting for financial servicesProficient in MS Office applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and AccessGood understanding of Wholesale Banking business and productsStakeholder management and be able to manage multiple senior stakeholdersProject management experience with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlinesIn-depth understanding and experience in the financial or banking sectorProven leadership experience managing high-performing teamsStrong analytical and quantitative skills, with capability to connect market trends, business performance drivers and internal data with strategic implicationsStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau)Presentable and analytical with excellent problem-solving skills and a strategic mindsetSelf-motivated, creative, articulate, and possess excellent interpersonal skillsDetail-oriented with a "can-do" attitude, well-organized and able to multi-taskAbility to manage ambiguity and devise next step actions towards end outcomePassionate about driving transformation and change, and have a curious mind to challenge status quo and provide innovative solutionsHighly organised, and able to multi-taskEffective written and verbal communication skills, with ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teamsProficiency in written and spoken English, Cantonese, and Mandarin
