- oversee the software development lifecycle, ensuring adherence to best practices in coding, design, and security;
- dependably handle team activities, including projects, operations, and incidents;
- collaborate with various units in the College to translate business needs into technical solutions;
- implement strong security measures and strategies for data protection and risk mitigation;
- monitor application performance for scalability, security, and reliability, while staying updated with industry trends;
- manage vendor relationships, ensuring quality in outsourced work, and maintain development documentation;
- promote IT services to enhance literacy and utilization among staff and students; and
- carry out any additional duties as assigned by the Head or their delegates.
- have at least 10 years of experience in application development, with a minimum of 6 years in a management role, preferably in higher education;
- demonstrate proven experience in managing large-scale software development projects; experience with large-scale higher education student information system and integrating APIs of SAP cloud-based solutions is a plus;
- exhibit strong knowledge of modern software development methodologies, version control systems, DevOps practices, and secure software engineering principles, including data privacy and application vulnerability prevention;
- have strong technical proficiency in application development using languages such as C#, PHP, Python, or similar, and experience with project management and software development tools (e.g., Git, Jenkins, Docker);
- be experienced in modern application architectures (e.g., microservices, serverless) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure);
- be a technically hands-on leader with strong leadership and management skills;
- have strong problem-solving and analytical skills;
- possess excellent interpersonal, communication, writing, and presentation skills, with the ability to think strategically, work effectively with cross-functional teams, and communicate and influence with all levels; and
- successfully manage multiple projects, meet deadlines under pressure, and work independently and collaboratively with a proactive and adaptable approach.
