Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Biological Science or related disciplines; (ii) good interpersonal, communication and organisational skills; (iii) attention to detail, goal-oriention, self-motivation, dynamism, passion, and a strong sense of responsibility; (iv) a good command of English and Chinese (including Cantonese and Putonghua); and (v) familiarity with ISO9001 will be advantageous.The appointee will assist in laboratory research on inflammatory bowel disease and gut microbiota, run and manage biobank at the Prince of Wales Hospital or the Science Park in Shatin. Duties include (a) performing a variety of routine laboratory tasks and procedures, including but not limited to collecting, processing and managing large volume of clinical specimens (including samples from COVID-19 subjects or who may come with an infectious disease) and database; (b) recognising problems or deviations in biobank process and procedures; (c) facilitating interactions between research and the clinical studies team, as well as collaborators from other department; (d) performing laboratory maintenance duties; (e) maintaining stocks of general laboratory materials and placing orders for supplies; (f) assisting new students and other Research Assistants in the laboratory; and (g) supporting daily tasks and projects as assigned.Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for one year, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.The University only accepts and considers applications submitted online for the post above via the CUHK career site.
