- Conduct strategic market and scenarios analysis on global and local energy developments, keeping abreast of policy developments, competitive dynamics, and deployment of breakthrough technologies. Identify implications for CLP Power Hong Kong's retail business and recommend strategic responses.
- Monitor and evaluate emerging technologies related to electrification, decarbonization, distributed energy resources, digitalization such as vehicle-grid-integration, smart meter use cases, hydrogen, and others. Assess their strategic relevance, technical performance, and cost-effectiveness.
- Identify operational needs and innovation opportunities by engaging with cross-functional teams including technical and operational units related to retail business and power systems. Translate insights into strategic initiatives that enhance business performance and customer experience.
- Lead cross-functional collaborations to define and co-design strategic initiatives. Facilitate stakeholder engagement, secure buy-in, and align implementation plans across internal stakeholders.
- Conduct techno-economic studies and develop business proposals for new services and initiatives. Perform risk assessments, scenario modelling, cost and benefit analysis to support decision-making.
- A recognized degree in Engineering, Energy Systems, Finance, Business Management, or a related discipline.
- 4 to 6 years of relevant experience in strategic planning, consulting, or business analysis, or technology evaluation, preferably within the energy or utilities sector.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with ability to synthesize complex information, identify opportunities, and develop holistic and actionable business proposals.
- Solid understanding of energy technologies and systems, including cost-performance analysis of equipment and infrastructure such as building MEP, electric vehicles, smart grid, hydrogen, and others.
- Proven ability to work across multidisciplinary teams with different professional backgrounds, influence stakeholders, and drive alignment in a matrix organization.
- Knowledge of Hong Kong's energy landscape, including sectoral consumption patterns, regulatory environment, and infrastructure development, is highly desirable.
- Experience in scenario planning and techno-economic studies is an advantage.
- Fluent in both written and spoken English and Chinese.
