(Post Ref.: 25/194)The Office of Student Affairs (OSA) is responsible for the provision of desirable services for students of the University and enhancing their learning experience. The successful candidate will join a dynamic team dedicated to fostering whole-person development and a vibrant campus life for students.Responsibilities
- Assist the Director of Student Affairs to administer the business and output of the Wellness Promotion & Financial Support Division, including among others, student services, personnel management and budget control
- Supervise the work and operation of the Counselling Team, Physical Education Team, and Scholarship and Bursaries Team
- Devise strategies and plans to support students with special educational needs (SEN) and to raise staff members' awareness of SEN issues contributing to the enhancement of campus inclusion
- Develop effective partnership with other University units, student groups and key stakeholders in promoting physical fitness and mental health to all students
- Superintend the services and support rendered to students with financial challenges and those who are eligible to receive awards and scholarships
- Represent the University to serve in the related associations which plan and organise sports events
- Serve as first-line contact of the Office of Student Affairs with the University Grants Committee on the special funding for SEN Students and Elite Athletes
- Support the management in identifying potential risks, and taking effective measures to prevent critical incidents and crisis pertaining to students
- Act as secretary of the University committee(s) as necessary, and to attend meetings of the University committee(s) which are related to student services so as to contribute to the enhancement of their campus life
- Represent the Director of Student Affairs in external occasions as necessary
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor(s)
- Work outside normal office hours, including weekends, as required
- A recognised bachelor's degree in health promotion, psychology & counselling, public administration or relevant disciplines
- At least fifteen years' related experience, with at least eight years at executive level, preferably with tertiary institutions or sizeable organisations
- A sound knowledge in managing wellness programmes and student finance in universities
- An excellent mastery of logical thinking, analytical, interpersonal, communication, coordination, multi-tasking and problem-solving skills
- A strong sense of self-motivation, responsibility and teamwork relation
- A high calibre to work under tight timelines with a positive attitude
- A great interest in partnering with people from different professions or sectors (such as psychotherapists and sports coaches) to explore new ways for continuous improvement
- An excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua)
